Ardmore is in the Chickasaw Country region of Oklahoma. It is a regional center for the area and offers lodging and restaurants, as well as performing arts centers. Ardmore can serve as a base for exploring the nearby region and the Arbuckle Mountains.Get in

Ardmore is on Interstate 35, approximately 1.5 hr south of Oklahoma City and 2 hr north of Dallas, Texas.By air
There is no local commercial airport; OKC or DFW are the nearest airports.By rail
Amtrak serves Ardmore, the city is situated along the Heartland Flyer route that runs once-daily between Fort Worth and Oklahoma City. Ardmore station is located at 251 E Main St.

Sadly, like many Mid-West cities, a vehicle is almost a necessity in Ardmore; there is no public transportation and with the exception of the few blocks of historic downtown, most of the city is not walkable (in some places, there aren't even sidewalks). Most of the hotels and many restaurants and services are clustered either around the freeway or around Commerce Avenue, some way from the historic part of the city.
