Balurghat is headquarters of Dakshin Dinajpur district in West Bengal.

By plane

• Balurghat Airport is at the entry of the city. Kolkata-Balurghat-Coochbehar Airplane service is available.

By train

There are two daily links with Kolkata - Sealdah-Balurghat Gour Express and Kolkata-Balurghat Tebhaga Express, two passenger links with Malda and an express link with New Jalpaiguri.

By road

NH-512 runs through the city. SH-10, a bypass highway, connects the city with Raiganj and Siliguri.
