Bat Yam is a city in Israel and a working-class suburb of Tel Aviv. It has a population of about 130,000.
Understand
The city's name means "daughter of the sea" (which is the Hebrew term for "mermaid"), as it is on the coast between Tel Aviv and Rishon LeZion.

From Jerusalem
Lines 404 and 406. Check the schedule - these only run maybe once per hour. 404 is the slow bus which serves Ramla, Latrun, and some small villages along the way. 406 is much faster, running nonstop between Jerusalem and Holon, but typically only during rush hour. If you miss these buses, take the 405 to Tel Aviv and a local bus to Bat Yam.Get around
The city is small, and often you can get from place to place on foot. But in the summer heat, you'll want to take a bus, car, or taxi even for short distances.
Dan operates a single local bus line(Line 6) but it's more recommended to take a bus headed for Tel Aviv or another part of the urban area.
Do
The beaches are nice. Other than that, there is little of interest here.
