Bijapur (district)

Kannada is the official language of the state but Marathi, Hindi and English are also spoken.

Bijapur is well connected by Train and buses. New airport is also being built in the city Bijapur.

Bijapur has reasonably good public transportation. Other modes of transportation are Auto Rikshaws( Tuk Tuks), Tangas ( Horse-drawn carriages) and taxis.

Khanavali, a local eating place where vegetarian food is served as per Lingayat tradition.
