Eat
- Barreado - The signature food of the area is a kind of slow cooked-beef stew served with cassava flour and banana slices. Meat is sealed inside a special clay pot with a bundle of herbs and spices and cooked for 12-18 hours, after which the herbs and spices are removed. Traditionally the cooking was done in a hole in the ground. The origin of the dish is disputed between Antonina, Morretes, and Paranaguá, and each town has a slightly different recipe.
Drink
- Cachaça - The area is a famous producer of Brazil's favorite liquor, with flavors distinctive to the area. In addition, the port at Paranaguá brings in many specialty cachaças from other areas of the country as well.
