Cunnamulla

Cunnamulla is a town of 1,500 people in south-western Queensland. It is the largest town and civic centre of the Paroo Shire. The Warrego River flows through the centre of the town.

By car

Cunnamulla is 190km from Charleville by sealed two lane road. The road is prone to flooding.

By plane

• Cunnamulla AirportSkytrans fly to Cunnamulla Wednesdays and Sundays from Brisbane and St George and Thargomindah.

By train

Queensland Rail offer a mini-bus connection from the Westlander train to Charleville twice weekly.
Cunnamulla is around 2 hours drive from Charleville via Wyandra.

There is no car rental or public transport in Cunnamulla. Most of the attractions in the town are within walking distance. A car is required to see the surrounding area or to get to the weir.

• Cunnamulla WeirPicnic area and weir. No swimming is allowed close to the weir, but you can swim further upstream.

• Robbers TreeThe last person executed in Queensland for robbery under arms was trapped up the tree by local people and their dogs. Tree is floodlit in the evening.

• Cunnamulla Heritage TrailPick up a brochure at the visitor's centre for a walking or driving tour around explaining the history of Cunnamulla

• Walk along the Warrego

All three mobile networks provide coverage in Cunnamulla.

• It is 60km from Cunnamulla to Eulo and the Paroo River.
• Travel out to the Opal mining town of Yowah.
