Dunmore East (Dún Mór in Irish) is a small village in County Waterford in Southeast Ireland.See
The village is home to the Waterford Harbour Sailing Club that has dinghy and keelboat sailing and the Dunmore East Adventure Centre, which has many watersports events for adults and children. Also there is the Dunmore East Sea Scouts one of the best scouting troops in the country.
Do
The village is divided into two sections - the Upper Village with a Harbour and the Lower Village with the sandy strands (beaches). In the Upper village there are the Flat Rocks which slope gently towards the sea and are great for angling. Above these there is a cliff walk along the cliffs for about 3 miles west of the village towards Portally Cove. In the Lower village there are a number of sandy beaches and coves that are great for swimming and diving.
Events
The most popular event in Dunmore East is the annual bluegrass festival which takes place at the end of August. During this festival the village hosts a number of bluegrass groups over the weekend during which almost every bar becomes a music venue from 3pm until late in the evening.Eat
