Evenkia (Russian: Эвенки́я eh-vehn-KEE-yuh) is a vast Siberia region in Krasnoyarsk Krai, the size of Turkey, but with a very sparse population — a mere 0.023 people per km 2 , less than 20,000 people in total. Evenkia borders Taymyria to the north, Yakutia to the east, Irkutsk Oblast to the southeast, and the Krasnoyarsk region to the southwest and west.
