Fuquay-Varina

By car

The main road running through Fuquay-Varina is US-401, from Raleigh and Garner in the north to Lillington and Fayetteville in the south. NC-42 — linking Fuquay to the outskirts of Cary and Durham in the north, and Angier and Kinston in the east — and NC-55 — which runs through Sanford in the southwest to Wilson in the northwest — also run through town.

By bus

The Triangle Transit FRX line offers very limited commuter service from Raleigh.

• Historic downtown Fuquay (S Main Street from Ennis to E Spring) and downtown Varina (Broad Street and Stewart Street). Historic local landmarks, shopping and eateries.
• The National Register Historic Districts of Fuquay Springs, five blocks of residential homes around S Main Street and Spring Street, and Varina, a block and a half of commercial buildings around Broad Street.
• The original Fuquay Mineral Springs for which the town was named, on S Main Street.

• Raven Rock State Park

  Wooded state park full of hiking trails along the Cape Fear River, located about 25 miles (45 km) from Fuquay-Varina. Includes a nice view from an overhang on top of the cliffs where you can see the river below. Primitive camping is possible, with no potable water available.

• Raleigh, about 25 minutes north on US-401, offers world-class music concerts at Alltel Pavilion and the Carolina Hurricanes professional hockey team.
• Asheboro, about 2 hours west on NC-55 / US-64, is home to the North Carolina Zoo.
