The European route E39 highway ends in Hirtshals, where cars can continue their journey via ferry to Norway. Nordjyllands trafik selskab route 224 connects to Hjørring several times per day. As does the private railway; Nordjyske Jernbaner every 30-60 minutes throughout the day.By ferry

The ferry departs Hirtshals Tuesdays at 14.30 and on Thursdays and Sundays at 12.30. Plus a departure just to Stavanger Saturday (8,5 hrs). The same ferries continue Hirtshals- Langesund (4½ hours). There is also a special ferry that runs Hirtshals - Kristiansand in the summer season.

address: Fyret 2Built in 1862 and still in use. It is 35 meter and stands on a 27 meter mound giving a fantastic view of the surrounding countryside as well as the sea.

There is also a big outdoor aquarium with seals and a show area, and several smaller habitat and theme tanks.
