Jokkmokk

Jokkmokk is a town in Swedish Lappland, in the middle of Norrbotten County. Jokkmokk Municipality, Jokkmokks kommun, is one of Sweden's largest, containing a land area of 18,000 square kilometres (larger than many small countries) but no more than 5,000 inhabitants.

Jokkmokk has been a seat of Sami culture, with an annual market fair, which recently celebrated its 400th anniversary.
Get in
The nearest airports are Luleå and Gällivare. The Inlandsbanan trains (limited season) stop in Jokkmokk centre. There are also night trains from Stockholm to Murjek 60km from the centre. There are bus connections from Luleå and from Murjek to Jokkmokk. See resrobot.se.
When going by car from south Sweden, the road E45, or E4 plus road 374 or 97 are suitable. The E4 connection is faster than E45, but they have similar length.
