Kulithalai is a town on the south bank of River Cauvery in India. It houses the famous Shiva temple 'Kadambar kovil' (a Thevara sthalam). A taluk head quarters of Tamil Nadu, Kulithalai is a big town on the railway between Tiruchirappalli and Karur. From here one can visit Ayyarmalai Rathnagiri Eshwarar hill temple (also known as Vaatpokki) 6km away.Get in
It is well connected by bus every 5 minutes from Trichy the nearest big town. All the buses going to Coimbatore,Karur,Erode stop there and it is only a 40minutes drive watching the beautiful Cauvery on your right and the railway line on your left amidst plantains and paddy fields.. It is so green you would feel driving up and down again.
Get around
Mookombu is located about 20 km (towards Trichy) from Kulithalai.It is a lovely picnic spot with a lot of water.
Kollidam river divides from River Cauvery here. There is a big dam here.You can walk through the dam and take a
look at the fast flowing water.
Loads of temples around and it is the perfect place after your retirement. If you want to taste post retirement life, you should visit and stay there for a week minimum. Lots of temples around and it is so well connected by Train to Bangalore,Cochin,Chennai,Erode,Trich,Mysore,Mangalore & Kashmir.

- There are very few places to visit in Kulithalai, so big city people may not be comfortable for long here. You can come just to relax for an afternoon. The Manathattai Agraharam has two good old temples dedicated to Shiva and Vishnu. The places near the bus stand have some good old temples as well. You can also visit the Rathna Girishwarar temple in Aiyarmalai is 5 km away from Kulithalai and is well connected by road.Kadambavaneswara Shiva temple is situated on the bank of Cauvery.
Many other Temples are on your enroute to Trichy.

There really isn't much to buy here except vegetables from the market.There is a weekly market for fresh vegetables.
There is a hotel named "Srinvasa Cafe" near Court will provide u a delicious and homely vegetarian food... Do Visit to Rajendram Village .
