Kvamskogen is a mountain plateau in Norway, situated between 400 and 1300 metres above sea level in Kvam municipality in Hordaland county. It is a popular target for ski enthusiasts from Bergen and the surrounding areas in the winter.Get in
Kvamskogen is only accessible by car or bus. The closest airport, train station and port are all located in Bergen.
If you choose to travel by car from Bergen, follow E16 through Åsane to Arna, and get on RV7. It will take about one hour from downtown. Be aware that there is limited parking, and that a quite high price is charged.
In the winter season, there is a "ski bus" Saturdays and Sundays, daily in school vacations. A reservation is required. The ticket price includes a day pass to an alpine center of your choice. Call 177 for more information.
Get around
Getting from one alpine center to another is not possible without a car, and on busy days, it can be a problem even with one, as parking is limited.
