Lüshunkou District is in Dalian. It includes the historic port city of Lüshun, formerly known as Port Arthur.

By bus
The main bus routes from central Dalian to Lüshunkou are bus routes 2002 and 2003, both of which orignate from the Dalian Railway Station in Zhongshan District. Bus route 2003 takes a northerly route, while bus route 2002 takes a southerly route.

Lüshun Bus Station
address: 27 Jiu San Road (九三路27号)This station serves both local buses from central Dalian, as well as long-distance coaches from other cities.
By metro
The Dalian Metro has five stations in Lüshunkou District. All are on Line 12. They include Huangnichuan, Longwangtang, Tahewan, Lüshun, Tieshan, and Lüshun New Port - the terminus of Line 12.
Lüshun Metro StationNot to be confused with the Lüshun Railway Station, this metro station is the closest one to the historic city of Lüshun. Nonetheless, it's still relatively remote, so it's probably best to transfer to a bus or taxi upon your arrival.
By train
Lüshun Railway Station is no longer in use. Passenger train services on the Dalian-Lüshun line ceased in 2014.
By boat

Lüshun West Station
address: 1020 Haiyun Road (海韵路1020号)This is the ferry terminal for the Bohai Train Ferry, which operates between Yantai and Lüshun. There are four train ferries daily from Yantai. The journey time is about 7 hours.

phone: +86 13478461261address: Huangjin Street (黄金街)Originally built during the late Qing Dynasty using cannons imported from Germany, the fort was substantially upgraded during the Russian occupation and used against the Japanese in the Russo-Japanese War. Today the Dianyan Battery site is administered by the Lüshun Submarine Museum. Japanese visitors may need to be wary of visiting the site. A sign near the entrance - written in Chinese and Japanese - advises that "Japanese people who do not acknowledge the history of the invasion of China are not permitted to enter".

The courthouse is now a museum.

Lüshun Railway Station

The station is noteworthy for its Russian architectural style. Passenger rail services ceased in 2014, but the station remains open to visitors. -

The memorial hall at the grave displays photographs and artefacts pertaining to the massacre.

A memorial tower stands at the peak of the mountain. The memorial tower was originally built by the Japanese to commemorate their victory in the Russo-Japanese War. It now stands as a reminder of the Japanese invasion.

phone: +86 411 86383370, +86 411 86383697This small mountain and the surrounding area constitute the largest part of the Snake Island & Laotie Mountain National Nature Reserve (蛇岛老铁山国家级自然保护区). Besides, natural scenery, the area also features an old lighthouse, which was built in France and erected here by the British in 1893. As of 2018, however, the lighthouse is not open to the public and can only be viewed from the outside.

Longwangtang Cherry Blossom Park

The 3,000 cherry trees were planted by Japanese colonists back in 1920s after the completion of the Long Wangtang Water Dam. The Art Nouveau-style dam itself is another interest to visit. -
phone: +86 411 86383370, +86 411 86383697Administered as part of the Snake Island & Laotie Mountain National Nature Reserve (蛇岛老铁山国家级自然保护区), the island is home to a unique species of pit viper known as the Shedao Island Pit Viper (or Gloydius Shedaoensis). There are said to be around 20,000 of these vipers on the island. Visitors must be accompanied by a tour guide.

Hengshan North Putuo Cultural Theme Park
