Larne is a important passenger and vehicle ferry port and is served by ferries from Troon and Cairnryan in Scotland, and Fleetwood in England.

By road

The A8 road connects Larne to Belfast. A more scenic alternative is the A2 Antrim Coast Road.

By rail

Larne has 2 railway stations, Larne Town and , both of which are on the same line from Belfast.
