North Canterbury is the northern part of the Canterbury region on the South Island of New Zealand.It is primarily a farming district. It also has a lot to offer the traveller and there are many local ventures orientated to visitors. Most of these are also popular among the locals.

Do
There is an area between Hanmer Springs, Amberley and Kaikoura (all about 150 km apart) that around the year 2000 was designated by local councils as the Alpine Pacific Triangle. Within this region a lot of different activities are available.
