Seaford

Seaford is a quiet, charming town located 10 miles (16 km) east from Brighton and 10 miles west from Eastbourne. Although it is the largest town in the district, with around 23,000 residents, it is chiefly a dormitory town for Brighton and London which is around 65 miles (100 km) away. This means it's largely suburban and there isn't that much to do. However, there are a number of nice B&Bs and small hotels dotted around the town, and the beautiful Seven Sisters cliffs provide fantastic walks.

By train from Lewes or Brighton or by bus from Eastbourne. Also very close to Newhaven so by ferry from Dieppe.

The main town area is small enough to walk around, however anyone wishing to visit outlying areas or places of interest close to Seaford (for example the Seven Sisters cliffs) may wish to take one of the circular bus routes or cycle.

• Seaford Museum of Local History

  The museum is housed in one of the old fortification structures and holds a range of artefacts and displays related to local history. It also houses an archive, which welcomes visitors once a month, although only under supervision.
