Solvorn is an idyllic little village near the head of Sognefjorden, West Norway.Understand
It was once an important trading place, connecting farms in the region with Bergen. Now it is peaceful, full of character and beautifully maintained.
Get in
There are frequent buses from Sogndal.

Get around

Hiking
There is a wide selection of marked and unmarked hikes in and around Solvorn.- You can hike up Molden for spectacular views at 1118 m above sea level up and down the Lustrafjord.
- For a whole day hiking, try Solvornnipa.
- There are also beautiful, more relaxing hikes in the Solvorn valley.
Solvorn is also the perfect base for hiking daytrips in the wider Lustrafjord region.
Biking
Solvorn is perfectly located for daytrips by bike by the fjord, the lakes and in the mountains.- You can take the ferry over to Urnes and cycle along the Romantic Road to Feigumsfossen, the second highest free-falling waterfall in Norway.
You can cycle along the Dramatic Road to Veitastrond, experiencing steep mountain sides, deep blue lakes, and a glacier at the end.
For a longer trip, cycle around the head of the Lustrafjord. 70 km in total.

This is served at 19:30 in the restaurant in the main building and is an important part of the Walaker experience.
