NyírtassThe historic birthplace of the Tosh sect of Hassidism started by the Rabbi Meshulam Feish Segal-Loewy of Tosh. The Jewish cemetery has the crypts of the Tosh "csoda-rebbi" (miracle rabbi). It is customary to write one's name, and family member's names on a piece of paper so that good fortune may be granted to you. There is an effort to revive the Jewish presence in this former "shtetle", on Ady Endre út, which is one block away from the cemetery. On Tass Vasar u. It is the place of the "Gertel" of the tosher rabbis. There is a statue of Kossuth Lajos on a horse, near the local "Söröző" (beer hall).
