Population 510, with one village, one luxury hotel, several small residences.
The economy is based on tourism, fishing and coconut oil.
Get in
- Tikehau Airport is located on the Southern tip of the atoll. There are daily flights to and from Tahiti and other atolls of the Tuamotus. Flight time from Tahiti is 55 minutes in modern turboprop planes.
Get around
Roads exist only within the village. Otherwise, all transportation by boat.

Do
There is magnificent snorkelling and diving. Great coral and tropical fish within the atoll.
Bird Island is an isolated bird refuge. No people, but a strong dock for arrival.
