Tonnes is a small village in Nordland, and the third largest village in Helgeland. Climate
Lying right beside the coast means the climate is fairly temperate thanks to warm air from the Gulf Stream. Summer weather is cool and pleasant. In winter temperatures hover just above or below freezing - far warmer than other places in the area.

Tonnes Harbor is a connection point for the boat trafikk in the region. There boats from Sandessjøen and Bodø arrives twice a day. It is operated by TorgHatten Nord Information Torghatten NordDo
- Hiking. The beautiful mountains have a lot of marked trips.
- Fishing. It is possible to rent a boat from the Harbor og just fish from the rocks.
Drink
Buying alcohol in stores
Beer can be purchased in the supermarket at a cost of 10-16 kr for a 0.33l bottle. Supermarkets stop selling beer after 8pm each day, 6pm on Saturdays, and 3pm on holiday weekends. It is not possible to buy beer in a shop on a Sunday. Hard liquor or wine can only be bought at state-owned shops called Vinmonopolet. The closest one is in Mo i Rana
Pubs and bars

Sleep
Getting a place to stay in Tonnes is reasonable. In peak periods (the summer) you probably need to book in advance. OscarBrygga is offering cabins and rooms by the shore. Often in the summer you can rent rent private rooms cheaper. Look for signs by the way.

Crime is not a problem in Tonnes. The village is known to be safe.

It is easy to get around in Tonnes. Most people will respond in English to any question you may have. The young Norwegians also speak some German.
