By ferry
The Sheilds passenger ferry crosses the Tyne to connect North Shields with South Shields in South Tyneside every thirty minutes. Bicycles are taken.North Shields is served by an overnight car and passenger ferry from IJmuiden near Amsterdam.
Get around
The area is well served by buses, and the metro can also be used to travel between the centres.
There is a good riverside walk from North Shields to Tynemouth, and a coastal walk from Tynemouth to Cullercoats.

Tynemouth Volunteer Life Brigade Watch House Museum

The museum includes a working model of Breeches Buoy rescue equipment. -
