Yangjiang

Yangjiang is a coastal city in Western Guangdong. The local dialect is the Gaoyang dialect, a branch of Cantonese.

Passenger train service to Yangjiang has been available since July 2018.

There is a kite festival on the 9th day of the 9th lunar month.

The city is moderately famous for making knives, scissors, swords — anything that cuts. There is quite a range, everything from basic cutlery to highly ornamental swords. It is the base of Yangjiang Shibazi, a knife manufacturer.
Kites are also a local specialty.
